Far Cry 3 Will Leave You ‘Stranded’
Bringing the series back to a tropical setting once more, Far Cry 3 pits you as unfortunate vacationer Jason Brody in an attempt to heroically save his girlfriend from the clutches of the less than emotionally stable locals while somehow avoiding his own unceremoniously savage end.
Even though you’ll spend plenty of time holding the gun instead of looking down the barrel of one, Ubisoft Montreal wants you to feel a constant sense of danger, underlined by realistic sensibilities that force the player to hone their inner survivalist. The tone they’ve chosen fits well – it’s just a shame it evokes knee-jerk memories of Turistas. That movie is inadvertently hurting Far Cry by having been filmed.
Watch Turistas, hate yourself for watching it and hate the people that made it, and then look for Far Cry 3 on September 4th for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
