More Walking Dead Content Shambling in Before Season 2?
Given the near overwhelming reception Telltale’s episodic nail biter received, a Walking Dead: Season 2 is more than a sure bet. Problem is, we won’t get our hands on the sequel series for a hell of a long time.
Gabbing with IGN, Gary Whitta, one of the first season’s predominant writers, confirmed that much. “There’s not much to say because it really is very early…it’s a way off." Whitta, a man whose written word has put scores of gamers through gut-wrenching emotional turmoil ("I’LL NEVER LEAVE YOU, CLEM”), decided to repent by teasing possible TWD content being developed to alleviate the painful wait for Season 2.
“Knowing that it’s a way off, and knowing that people are hungry for more Walking Dead,” said the scribe, “There may very well be more Walking Dead from Telltale before season two. We may have a little something extra for you between season one and two.”
There’s still a criminally unhealthy amount of people out there that haven’t experienced – not "played”; experienced – The Walking Dead game, so I’ll breeze past spoilers. But the first season has more than a moaning herd’s worth of loose ends and unresolved plot threads. It’d be easy seeing Telltale filling in the blanks with extra story content or even releasing a Chapter Zero that sets the stage for the second series by giving players some substantial, moral stress-testing choices. Cannot wait to see how Telltale plans on punching me in the emotions next.
