By the way, my head fucking exploded seeing this.  Jeez, I just realized I’m going to have a fanboy aneurism playing this game.

New Aliens Trailer Comes with Bad News, Marines

After a flip-flopping ETA on Gearbox’s official website – and Sega’s complete silence on the matter – Aliens: Colonial Marines has fell from its unspecified Spring release period to an unspecified release date in the Fall of this year.

Gearbox has commented on the delay stating, “our goal is to make a great game, and we are prioritizing this goal...

Quit your grinnin’ and drop your linen, folks.

Take a good hard gander at Gearbox’s Collector’s Edition of Aliens: Colonial Marines.  The mighty hammer of fan service is set to crush you like a bug by doling out the following laundry list of Weyland-Yutani approved goodies:

  • A copy of Aliens: Colonial Marines in all of its belated glory.
  • In-game DLC content including multiplayer weapons ripped from the ‘86 film and an extra game mode dubbed “USCM Academy Firing Range.”
  • 8" Power Loader figure.
  • A 22 page Aliens comic published by your xeno pals at Dark Horse.
  • Three exclusive fabric USCM patches because an angel dies every time a collector’s edition skimps on patches.
  • Wrap Around Display (to make your Power Loader feel at home).
  • USCM Dossier

Absolutely badass.  If Colonial Marines has been off your radar then shame on your very soul.  James Cameron’s Aliens has remained atop my favorite movie list for years now.  Alien as a franchise has seen the short end of the stick in video game form for longer than that.  Cameron’s opus, though, deserves a game worthy of the branding and I truly, sincerely hope Gearbox has pulled out all the stops.
