There was a time when the Spawn license was doled out like a hellborn whore.  Toys, pogs, shirts, probably even collector’s plates. Network execs even met with Todd MacFarlane to discuss a Saturday morning cartoon featuring everyone’s favorite Hellspawn.  MacFarlane got about twelve seconds into explaining that Spawn was a former soldier gunned down and turned into one of Satan’s own mercenaries only to haunt and patrol the bleak, rotten ghettos of his city before the execs decided parents may have a tough time swallowing a cartoon.

Al’s video game engagements were hit and miss but let us never forget Spawn: In the Demon’s Hand, the six-hundered and sixty-sixth reason to own a Sega Dreamcast.

Gaming Factoid of the Day: Resident Evil 4

The earliest build of Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 was designed and intended for the PlayStation 2 under RE2 director Hideki Kimiya’s wing.  RE4 would suffer a few more scraped incarnations before the finalized product hit Nintendo’s Gamecube (before finally being ported to the PlayStation 2…and then everything else in existence after that).
